Beneficiaries in the United States and Colombia

Although our arts community is small, our goal is to provide an impact on the rest of the world that is huge. By being a resource for the organizations listed below, the Foundation provides real dollar donations to support access of inner city children and youth to music programs in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles Opera, the LA Philharmonic through their YOLA program and The Colburn School of Music. Further, by providing scholarships to students in Colombia, the Foundation’s impact ripples throughout the lives and families of ambitious and talented youth in Los Angeles and Barranquilla, Colombia.

Los Angeles Opera

The Los Angeles Opera is one of the resident companies of the Los Angeles Music Center. It is the fourth-largest opera companies in the United States with its home base at the Dorothy Chancler Pavillion. The Rafael & Luisa De Marchena Foundation is a proud sponser of the Los Angeles Opera.

Los Angeles Opera Associates

The Opera Associates of Los Angeles is a non-profit organization made up of true lovers of opera. In their quarterly meetings they invite singers from various companies to come and share their beautiful voices and stories about opera. The Rafael & Luisa De Marchena Foundation supports the Opera Associates through direct donations and by providing meeting space for some of their events. 

Los Angeles Philharmonic / Disney Concert Hall

The Los Angeles Philharmonic is one of the Resident Companies of the Los Angeles Music Center. It is an American orchestra based in Los Angeles with a regular season of concerts from October through June at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and a summer season at the Hollywood Bowl. Gustavo Dudamel is the current Music Director and Esa-Pekka Salonen is Conductor Laureate.

Opera League

The Foundation is a proud sponser of the LA Opera Leauge.
 
From their website: There are numerous, fun ways in which you can become involved with LA Opera as a volunteer. The Opera League of Los Angeles, the primary volunteer support organization for LA Opera, and its members work with LA Opera staff on a wide variety of programs including student matinees, teacher training sessions, Saturday Mornings at the Opera, Community Educators, and much more.
In addition to volunteer opportunities, the Opera League offers its members informative educational programs including seminars and many social activities focused on opera with the aim on expanding the appreciation of opera throughout greater Los Angeles and the surrounding counties.

The Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at the Music Center

Dance at the Music Center is currently lead by the dance series, Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center. Our Foundation is proud to be a sponser of this renowned platform promoting exciting choreographers, classical ballet and contemporary dance expression.

USC Friends of the Library

The Foundation, as a heartfelt supporter of education, is a proud sponser to the USC Friends of the Libraries. 
The Friends of the USC Libraries have a long tradition of supporting the libraries of the University of Southern California. Since 1963, friends have come together to foster conversation, create a community, and help the libraries provide excellent collections and services to Trojan scholars in training.

Western Michigan University, Alumni Association

At Western Univeristy of Michigan, the Rafael & Luisa De Marchena-Huyke Foundation provides meeting space for events they have in the Los Angeles area. In early 2018, the Foundation will host an alumni event for Western Michigan University.

Windsor Square Hancock Park Historical Society

The Foundation supports the Windsor Square-Hancock Park Historical Society by sponsering some of their events and providing meeting space. The Historical Society was founded in 1976 as a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation to preserve and collect the rich and illustrious history of the Greater Rancho La Brea, encompassing the recognition of its architectural landmarks, historical sites and finely appointed homes, while generating a supporting community spirit.

Corporacion Ayudemos, Non-Profit Organization in Barranquilla, Colombia

The Rafael & Luisa De Marchena-Huyke Foundation has provided funding to Ayudemos for the construction of housing for very poor families of Barranquilla, Colombia.
